Post Production Diary

The following text will contain evidence of how I have edited my project and the way it is edited, this includes on what skills I have already learned, gained and improved on.

Editing Process One: After capturing footage I have made during the production phase I have saved them from an SD Card and moved them to a USB and one drive to back them up, I opened up Adobe Premiere Pro (2021 version) then created a new project and named it 'Smile Campaign advert'.

Editing Process Two: After accessing my files I then drag my footage and merge them all together to see how it plays out, so far it is raw and unedited.

Editing Process Three: I have Selected the Ultra Key Tool to change the color of the green screen, I've selected Key color and then clicked on the green screen, then the background changes to black, that is a sign that the screen screen effect is ready to use.

Afterwards I just repeat the first three steps until I get all of the footage I need, before adding them in I must review and makes sure that they all transition smoothly and it makes sense.

Editing Process Four: I have added text for narration of the advert, using the T tool (Text box) and inserting then typing in the text box.    The text allows for the target audience to further understand what is supposed to be happening during the advert.

Editing Process Five: I have been cutting and shortening footage so that it can meet the requirements of what an advert should be; at around 30 seconds and above like 1-2 or 3 minutes at the most.

The objective of an advert is to persuade a target audience with minimum time as possible, this shows that you have the skills to adapt and persuade your audience with either visual and/or verbal communication.

Editing Process Six: After repeating the previous steps multiple times I have finally finished editing the clips, I have added a new audio clip for soundtrack of my production.

The Audio is Sourced from https://www.bensound.com/ to avoid copyright and to include royalty free music, great to use for media projects without getting any strikes.

Editing Process Seven: At this Stage I have finished my production for my smile advert, this means that now I am able to export it then upload to YouTube for evidence of my Final Product.

After Exporting I stored the video in one of my files (USB) then proceeded to upload.

   Skills I have developed:

On this project I have used communication when giving and receiving feedback on other people's projects, I have also used Technical skills to edit my video, I used problem Solving because sometimes the computers will often have issues such as, being too slow to load or a crash during an edit of the project and when the edits isn't saved etc. Lastly this is all professional practice as I have developed an advert that is targeted at a specific audience.
